Services

Who do we work with?

We work with adolescents (12-25 years olds) and adults who are experiencing a range of mental health conditions and/or seeking support to navigate life’s challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • OCD

  • PTSD

  • Trauma (childhood, sexual, physical, emotional, verbal)

  • Addiction

  • Eating Disorders

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Existential concerns

  • Sensory challenges

  • ADHD and Autism (treatment, not clinical diagnosis - please see your paediatrician, psychiatrist or GP for diagnostic services)

  • Grief and loss/Adjustment challenges

  • Intimacy and sexuality concerns

  • Concerns relating to parenthood

  • Separation and co-parenting

Session Types

We offer therapy sessions in a few different formats, taking into account people’s individual preferences, accessibility and therapeutic needs. If you are unsure as to what session format would suit your needs best, feel free to get in touch with us and we can discuss this further with you. All session types will go for approximately 1 hour (50 minutes dedicated to therapy, with the remaining 10 minutes used to complete administrative tasks such as booking your next appointment and processing payment).

  • Therapy Office

Therapy sessions take place in a traditional face to face format at our therapy office, located at the Margaret River Community Centre. This might suit those who are looking for a more familiar, office based therapy format and who want to experience the many therapeutic benefits of meeting with their therapist face to face.

  • Online /Telehealth

Sessions take place using our secure, encrypted software. It is easy to use, and will require access to a laptop, phone or tablet as well as internet connection. This is a great option for those who cannot physically access the therapy room location (e.g. childcare, physical disability, sessions whilst travelling, time constraints, financial hardship etc). It is also a nice way to engage with therapy if you are feeling a little daunted by the idea of meeting us in person initially.

  • Eco-Therapy

Therapy will take place in Margaret River, with your therapist, outside in a beautiful natural space. In this way, we are able to incorporate mindful movement, and nature-based grounding interventions during our sessions whilst we walk or find a private place to sit together. This might be beneficial for those who are seeking encouragement to activate behaviours around regular gentle exercise (walking) into their lifestyle, people who find the thought of sitting in a closed room overwhelming, as well as people with sensory challenges.

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to access our services. However, if you wish to claim medicare rebates (please see ‘Fees’ page), you will need to visit your GP to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan, which provides eligibility for rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. You will be required to visit your GP after 6 sessions for a review in order to have access to the remaining sessions.

Disclaimer

Confidentiality

The information that you share with us, and your clinical records are kept securely and are not shared with anyone without your consent. The only situations that we would need to release information are:

  • If you are referred by a medical practitioner and claiming medicare rebates, we will be required to provide them with brief information about your progress upon their medical review with you to assess the need for ongoing rebatable sessions.

  • If your therapist has concerns for yours or others’ safety, they may need to contact an emergency support/support service/next of kin.

  • If your therapist’s clinical records are subpoenaed by the Court in relation to a legal case.

Crisis Support

Although we are trained in effective crisis management and planning for people who are acutely distressed during sessions, we are not an emergency service in that we cannot offer out of hours assessment or immediate crisis support if you are not in session with us. We aim to respond to calls, emails and texts as soon as possible, however, it may take us a few business days to do so. If you find that you are experiencing crisis, please head to your nearest Hospital Emergency Department. If you cannot attend the hospital, call:

  • Mental Health Emergency Response Line on 1300 555 788 (Open 24/7)

  • 000 - Request an ambulance

You can also access out of hours support by calling one of the below lines:
